How Can I Help You?

As a hearing loss coach, I support people navigating hearing loss and related challenges, including tinnitus, noise sensitivity, balance disorders, and auditory processing disorder (APD).

I help you build confidence, speak up for your needs, and feel more in control of everyday life. My coaching works for anyone affected by hearing loss or for those supporting a loved one, colleague, or friend, and is shaped around what works best for you.

What is Hearing Loss Coaching?

Hearing loss coaching helps you navigate the emotional and practical changes often associated with hearing loss.

When I lost my hearing, I was left with questions no one could answer. How do I explain this to my family? What do I say at work? Can I still do the things I love? The appointments were over, but I still had to figure out how to live with hearing loss day to day.

Through coaching, I offer the kind of support I needed back then. It’s a space to talk things through, explore what hearing loss means for you, and find ways to navigate daily life with more confidence, at home, at work, and out in the world. We look at communication, self-advocacy, and practical strategies that make life feel more manageable.

Hearing loss coaching isn’t therapy or medical care. It’s real-life support, grounded in listening, understanding, and helping you decide what comes next.

“I did three sessions with Carly Sygrove after being diagnosed with SSHL [sudden sensorineural hearing loss] and extremely intrusive tinnitus. The first few months of this situation were the most challenging that I ever faced and I believe my sessions with Carly helped ease my anxiety and put me on a path to acceptance and habituation to my “new normal.” I am sleeping through the night with no assistance and I am gaining a better mental approach to the trials of life in general. Sessions with Carly would be a good way to start that process if you were struggling.”

“Everyone tells you that your hearing gets worse as you get older. I thought I was prepared for it. But when it actually happened to me, I felt so lost. Especially since having excellent hearing has been an important part of my professional identity (I’m a subtitler). I turned to Carly for hearing loss support, and I’m so glad I did. Her compassionate, practical approach to hearing loss coaching was exactly what I needed. She helped me work through some difficult emotions and become a better advocate for myself. I now feel more hopeful about life with unilateral hearing loss.”
