How Can I Help You?
As a hearing loss coach, I specialise in supporting people with hearing loss. While this is my main focus, I also work with individuals facing related challenges like tinnitus, noise sensitivity, balance disorders, and auditory processing disorder (APD).
I help you build confidence, advocate for your needs, and feel more in control of everyday life. Whether you’re personally affected or supporting a loved one, colleague, or friend, my coaching is designed around what works best for you.
What is Hearing Loss Coaching?
Hearing loss coaching is about helping you find your way through the emotional and practical changes that come with hearing loss, especially the ones that start after the medical care ends.
When I lost my hearing, I had so many questions no one could answer: How do I explain this to my family? What do I say at work? Can I still do the things I love? The clinical appointments were over, but I was left to figure out the rest on my own.
Through coaching, I offer the kind of support I needed back then. It’s a space to talk things through, explore what hearing loss means for you, and figure out how to navigate daily life—at home, at work, and when you’re out and about in the world. Together, we look at ways to communicate more easily, build self-advocacy, and adjust with confidence.
Hearing Loss Coaching is not therapy or medical care. Instead, we focus on real-life challenges and how to move through them. I’m here to listen, help you make sense of things, and offer ideas or strategies when it feels right. Whether you’re figuring out how to explain things to others, adjusting to hearing devices, or just trying to feel more like yourself again, we’ll work through it together.
Hearing loss can feel like it changes everything. Coaching helps you find your footing again, with clarity, confidence, and the tools to move forward.
“I did three sessions with Carly Sygrove after being diagnosed with SSHL [sudden sensorineural hearing loss] and extremely intrusive tinnitus. The first few months of this situation were the most challenging that I ever faced and I believe my sessions with Carly helped ease my anxiety and put me on a path to acceptance and habituation to my “new normal.” I am sleeping through the night with no assistance and I am gaining a better mental approach to the trials of life in general. Sessions with Carly would be a good way to start that process if you were struggling..”
